What is Dify?
Dify is a platform for production-ready agentic workflows and AI applications. It brings model calls, knowledge retrieval, tools, code, branching, triggers, and human review into a collaborative visual canvas.
The Workflow Studio lets teams turn prompt logic into visible execution paths. Those paths can be tested, debugged, deployed, and handed off while the logic remains inspectable.
Dify supports both Workflow and Chatflow execution models. Workflows are suited to automation and backend tasks, while Chatflow is intended for assistants and guided conversations.
Once a workflow is ready, Dify can expose it as a hosted app, API endpoint, MCP-compatible tool, or reusable template. It is intended for teams that need to build and operate AI workflows across different delivery surfaces.

Workflow and chat execution
Dify provides Workflow and Chatflow modes that share a node library and execution model. A Workflow can run from an input or trigger, while a Chatflow runs for each user message and preserves memory across turns.
Testing and observability
Dify lets teams test an individual node or an entire flow with sample input before users encounter the app. It also describes trace streaming to observability tools including Langfuse, LangSmith, Arize, and W&B Weave.
Multiple publication surfaces
Dify can publish completed workflow logic to several delivery formats. Teams can use a hosted app, API endpoint, MCP-compatible tool, or reusable template depending on where the workflow needs to run.
